MS MR's Debut Set For May, New Track Released

Alt-pop duo MS MR announced today that their major label debut through Columbia Records will be released in the US on May 14. Although still very much under-the-radar, the NYC duo saw tremendous success in 2012 playing CMJ and touring with Marina and the Diamonds and Grouplove. MS MR also released their EP Candy Bar Creep Show with the lead single "Hurricane" to much recognition.

MS MR boast a dark, gloomy sound--filled with so many strings, piano and loud drums that it's hard not mention Florence & the Machine in comparison. Lead singer Lizzy Plapinger's take the duo's sound to higher ground with her haunting and intimate pop vocals.  From the new track released today titled "Fantasy," the group appears to be slowly moving away from their gloomy sound and moving towards a brighter, chart-driven sound.

MS MR is definitely an act you want to check out now before they blow up.  Aside from the release of their debut LP, they are currently scheduled to be playing SXSW in Austin in March and the Governor's Ball Festival in New York City in June--proving 2013 to be even bigger than last year. Listen to the new track "Fantasy" below.
